Engineering Firms
An engineering firm is a company of engineers who provide consulting or professional services to clients. Many engineering firms provide project management services to their clients. Employment in an engineering firm is usually based on a combination of education and experience. Everyone working as an engineer must be a licensed professional engineer. In order to obtain this, you must have five years of working experience under licensed engineers, and pass the PE exam afterwards.

Description: "During both summers I was able to become familiar with instrumentation and control systems and was eventually able to design and program BTU calculation control modules for heat exchangers, a plant Rate controller, and a chiller level management controller. I was also able to create the graphics for three separate cryogenic plants that are used in the control room by the operators to monitor and operate the plant. At the end of the second summer I was able to go into the field to assist control engineers in making programming and graphical changes to the DCS system."
